Back to Goal 1 The Integrated STEM Community Model Open-ended and enduring: Open-ended invitation is extended to members at all levels (and to K-12 teachers particularly) to join a STEM research/education community on an enduring basis;
Complementary research and education goals: STEM research and education are valued as complementary ends, where valuing both for their own sake is viewed as essential to the proper functioning of the STEM community and each of its members;
Promoting STEM culture and craft: STEM culture (embodied values) and craft (know-how, skills) are promoted;
Broadly inclusive: Invitation to membership is extended across full spectra of participants: pre-school to professoriate;
Interdisciplinary: All STEM disciplines are included, and interdisciplinarity is encouraged.
